At the last step of the campaign builder, you choose when your campaign goes out. Once it is launched, you stay in control: you can pause it, resume it or reschedule it.
Two choices are available:
Schedule for later (selected by default): pick a date, a time and a time zone. This choice also works when a template is still pending approval by Meta.
Send now: sending starts as soon as you launch the campaign. If a template of the campaign is still pending approval, this button becomes Send on approval: the campaign goes out automatically as soon as Meta approves the template. This button does not let you pick a date: for a send at a specific date, use Schedule for later.
Then click Submit Campaign.
One time zone per campaign: all contacts receive the message at the same moment. Kanal does not send at each contact's local time. If your customers are spread across several time zones, create one campaign per zone. More tips in Choosing the ideal time for your WhatsApp campaigns.
You do not need to wait for the template to be approved to launch or schedule the campaign. It waits for approval, then goes out automatically.
If the template is still not approved 72 hours after the planned send time, the campaign is set to Paused. It is not cancelled: its page invites you to resume it once the template is approved. The rule applies to both sending choices, including a scheduled campaign (72 hours after the chosen date and time).
For a fixed-date send, submit your templates to Meta at least 48 hours ahead: according to Meta, approval can take up to 24 hours. See How long does Meta take to approve a template?
Night pause: no campaign goes out between 8 pm and 8 am, in the time of your team's country. Sending resumes from 8 am. Keep this in mind for a large campaign launched late in the day.
24-hour limit: when your 24-hour messaging limit is reached, Kanal stops sending the campaign, then resumes it when the limit allows. See How do WhatsApp messaging limits work?
While the campaign is sending, you can stop it at any time from its page with the Pause button. As long as the campaign is paused, contacts who have not received the message yet do not receive it.
To restart sending, click Resume.
Kanal also pauses a campaign automatically in the cases below. The reason is shown on the campaign page.
You or a member of your team clicked Pause. Click Resume whenever you are ready.
Meta did not approve the template within 72 hours of the planned send time. Wait for its approval (or fix it if it was rejected), then click Resume.
Meta pauses a template that gets poor feedback from your customers: 3 hours the first time, 6 hours the second time, then permanent deactivation the third time. A campaign that is sending with this template is paused and does not restart on its own. A campaign that has not started yet waits until the template is active again.
Once the template is active again, the campaign page tells you that the template has been re-approved by Meta and that you can resume the campaign. Then click Resume. See What does a paused template mean?
Every campaign that uses this template is paused. Fix the template or replace it in the campaign flow, then resume sending. See Why was my WhatsApp template rejected?
Meta reports a payment issue on your WhatsApp Business account. Check your payment method (see Test a campaign and estimate its cost before sending), then resume the campaign. If the issue persists, contact support.
When Meta reports a violation on your account, Kanal pauses your marketing templates and the campaigns that are sending. The panel at the bottom of the menu shows that marketing templates are paused, along with the time of the automatic unlock.
The unlock happens automatically after 12 hours if your number's quality is not low and no restriction is in place. Then resume the campaign. See Understanding WhatsApp account quality
The Account violation panel appears at the bottom of the menu. Kanal then blocks all sending and pauses campaigns. Click Contact support: the Kanal team handles the review request with Meta. See My WhatsApp account is blocked by Meta: what should I do?
As long as a scheduled campaign has not started, you can reschedule it: open it and choose a new send date and time.
A campaign's flow can also be edited after launch, and the version history lets you find a previous version. See Launch a campaign with the campaign Builder. For the statuses in the campaign list, duplicating and deleting, see Analyze the performance of your WhatsApp campaigns.
