Before activating an automation, test it on your own phone to check the messages, buttons, variables and links.
Run a test
Open the automation in the editor and start the test. The method depends on the trigger:
Inbound message: scan the QR code shown with your phone. WhatsApp opens with the message pre-filled: send it to start the flow.
Other triggers: enter your phone number. Kanal runs the flow to that number.
Test from this node
To check only part of a long flow, select a node and click Test from this node: the test starts at that step, without going through the previous ones.
Skip wait times
Tick Skip wait times so you do not have to wait for the Wait time nodes: during the test, each wait is cut to 5 seconds.
Checklist
Test every branch: each button, each list option and both outputs of a condition.
Check that no variable shows up as raw text (
{{...}}) in the messages you receive.Templates must be approved by Meta before they can be sent.
Once the test works, turn the automation on from the automation list. If the toggle is replaced by "Uses Scale features", the flow contains a Scale node and your plan must be upgraded first.
