Your WhatsApp profile is the card your customers see when they open your number's info: photo, description, links and contact details. A complete profile reassures your customers and makes your messages more credible.
You fill it in once during onboarding, at the "WhatsApp profile" step. You can then edit it at any time.
Where to edit your profile
Click your team name to open the workspace menu, then Settings.
Open the WhatsApp Profiles section.
Edit the information you want, then save.
Profile information
Information | What to know |
|---|---|
Profile photo | 5 MB maximum and 192 x 192 pixels minimum. Use your logo in a square image that stays readable at a small size. |
Description | Introduce your brand in a few sentences: what you sell and how customers can reach you. |
Websites | Your online store's address. |
Your customer service contact address. | |
Business category | Your business category. For an e-commerce store, the Shopping and retail category is the best fit. |
Address | Your business address, if you want to display it. |
The display name
The display name is your business name on WhatsApp. It is approved by Meta and cannot be edited in Kanal. The WhatsApp Profiles page shows its status:
Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Approved | Meta has approved the name. |
Pending | Meta is reviewing the name. |
Rejected | Meta has rejected the name. Follow our guide My WhatsApp display name was rejected. |
Expired | The request has expired: the name must be submitted to Meta again. |
To change the name, click Go to Meta: the button opens your number's Profile tab directly in Meta's WhatsApp Manager. Meta allows 10 name changes per 30-day period.
The display name must match your brand. During onboarding, do not use the name suggested by Meta.
What about the blue checkmark?
The Official Business Account blue checkmark is a separate request made to Meta. Among other things, it requires an approved display name. See How to get your WhatsApp account certified.
