Many brands ask us this when connecting WhatsApp: "If my WhatsApp account is restricted or blocked, could I lose my ad accounts?" The answer is no. Your WhatsApp account and your advertising are two separate sections at Meta.
How Meta organizes your assets
The Business Manager (also called business portfolio) is the main entity. It contains several independent sections:
your ad accounts;
your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts;
your catalogs and data sources (pixel);
your WhatsApp Business account, the one Kanal uses.
The WhatsApp account is just one subcategory of the Business Manager, like the others. Connecting WhatsApp to Kanal creates or uses this WhatsApp section without changing anything else.
What happens if WhatsApp is restricted or blocked
If Meta restricts, blocks or bans your WhatsApp account, the sanction stays limited to WhatsApp:
your ad accounts keep working and your ad campaigns are not stopped;
your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts are not affected;
the quality of your Business Manager is not affected.
Using WhatsApp with Kanal puts your Meta advertising at no risk. The quality of your WhatsApp account and that of your ad accounts are tracked separately.
The only shared thing: the messaging limit
The WhatsApp messaging limit (250, 2,000, 10,000 unique recipients per 24h, etc.) is shared by all WhatsApp numbers of the same Business Manager. This only concerns WhatsApp: your ads have no limit tied to your WhatsApp sending.
Is your WhatsApp account restricted?
