For your smart agent to give relevant answers, it needs to understand your brand's world and know exactly which products it is allowed to promote. The Shopify section of the AI Agent interface lets you define your store's identity and control which parts of your catalog are visible.
The AI needs a frame of reference to strike the right tone and give accurate information. Before any interaction, fill in the three core fields of the "Identity" section:
Store name: Enter your store's trading name. This is how the AI will introduce itself or refer to your brand.
Theme and positioning: Describe your store's world here (e.g. "Organic, purpose-driven cosmetics brand", "High-performance sportswear store"). This helps the AI adapt its vocabulary.
Product type: Specify the nature of what you sell (e.g. "Facial skincare", "Yoga accessories").
Once these fields are filled in, don't forget to click the Save button to update the AI's memory.
Right below the identity settings, you'll find the complete list of your products synced from Shopify. The AI has access to descriptions, prices, and stock levels, but you keep full control over what it can recommend.
Next to each product is a toggle that lets you choose whether the AI can interact with that item or not:
Product enabled: The AI can answer specific questions about this product, recommend it during a conversation, and share details about its features.
Product disabled: The AI acts as if the product doesn't exist. It will never suggest it as a sales recommendation.
It can be strategic to hide certain items from the AI, for example:
Discontinued products or items about to go out of stock.
"Test" items or internal services (e.g. paid gift wrapping) you don't want recommended by default.
Highly technical products that absolutely require human assistance.
By setting up this data correctly, you let your AI agent go from a generic answer to personalized sales advice.
For example, if a customer asks: "What would you recommend for dry skin?", the AI analyzes your Product type to understand the context, then draws from the products you have enabled in your catalog to craft an expert answer that drives the purchase.
Expert tip: Review your product list in Agentia regularly. If you launch a new collection on Shopify, make sure it is enabled in this section so the AI can start selling it on WhatsApp right away.
