# Connect Kanal to your AI assistant (MCP)

Use Kanal from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex with the MCP connector: statistics, conversations, contacts, segments, and drafts of campaigns, automations and templates.

Kanal supports the MCP (Model Context Protocol). You can query your Kanal account from your AI assistant, in natural language, and ask it to prepare segments, campaigns, automations or templates.

## What is MCP?

MCP is a standard that lets an AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) connect to an external tool. Once Kanal is connected, your assistant accesses your data and can answer with the real context of your account.

## What you can do

### View your data

- **Statistics**: ROAS, attributed revenue, read rate, click rate, performance per campaign or per template.

- **Conversations**: read WhatsApp exchanges with your customers, search the history, summarize recurring requests.

- **Contacts, lists and segments**: view your database, opt-in statuses and the composition of your segments.

- **Campaigns and automations**: view their configuration and results.

### Create and prepare

- **Segments and lists**: create a segment from the criteria you describe, create a list, add or remove contacts, update a contact's variables.

- **Campaigns, automations and templates**: the assistant creates drafts that you find in Kanal.

- **Magic links and settings**: create a magic link, update some of your account settings.

- **Inbox**: reply to a customer in an open conversation, when you ask for it.

> **Info:** **You stay in control:** the assistant creates drafts. Sending a campaign, activating an automation and submitting a template to Meta always require your explicit approval: the assistant first shows you a summary (audience, estimated cost, trigger...) and waits for your confirmation. You can also open the draft in the Kanal editor to check it.

### Permissions

When you connect, you choose the permissions granted to the assistant: 12 permissions in total, 9 of which are write permissions. Each write permission also requires the matching right in your Kanal team.

## Plans

- **Free**: no MCP access.

- **Pro**: read only.

- **Scale and Business**: read and write.

## Supported tools

The connector works with the main AI assistants: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

## Connect MCP

1. In Kanal, click your team name, then **Settings**.

2. In the **Developers** section, open the **MCP** page (AI apps).

3. Select the AI assistant you want to connect Kanal to and follow the instructions shown.

4. Your assistant redirects you to Kanal: log in, choose the permissions and authorize access.

> **Info:** The connection uses OAuth: there is no key or secret to copy or keep. A connection applies to one user and one team.

## Example requests

- "What is the ROAS of my campaigns over the last 7 days?"

- "Summarize my customers' most frequent questions this week."

- "How many contacts are in my VIP segment?"

- "Create a segment of customers who ordered at least twice in the last 90 days."

- "Prepare a campaign announcing our new arrivals to my VIP segment."

- "Create a welcome automation for customers who write HELLO."

## Good to know

- Your connection is private and specific to your user account.

- Usage limits apply: up to 5,000 read calls and 500 write calls per day, with an additional limit on calls made in quick succession.

- You can disconnect MCP at any time from the same MCP page.

- If your assistant cannot see your data or cannot create items, check your plan and the permissions you granted.
